Black Lives Matter: Remembering, Celebrating & Moving Forward: An Evening of Beautiful Struggle, hosted by the W.E.B. Dubois Dept of Afro American Studies Lydia on blues fiddle will be joining the sound of Rev. Sekou and Jay-Marie Hill, a mix of gospel, blues, soul, and freedom songs. Rev. Sekou is grounded in the tradition of the Arkansas Delta Blues. His grandfather played piano for the legends, B.B. King and Albert King. Rev. Sekou--a third generation Pentecostal preacher-- is a long time organizer who has spent the last year in Ferguson. Singer-Songwriter Jay-Marie is the bassist and saxophonist for the Oakland based band Bones of a Feather. She is an active member of Black Lives Matter Bay Area Chapter.
